A few years ago I had another weblog where I posted a few unkind words about Ryan Tucker's violent, criminal behavior during his illustrious college career. Someone left a comment that I found so revealing I kept it on a Word Document. Before reading it you'll understand all of its hidden meanings if you familiarize yourself with Ryan Tucker's character and the sort of people who defend violent men.

Here's the post in all its inarticulate glory:

"You are obviously someone who got picked on in school. Who had to form A delusional explantion for it instead of accepting the truth.If you would have had enough confidence in your own character or self confidence in social settings you would never have been bullied, but if u never lovEd yourself how could u expect a group of your teenage peers to do so? And quit personally attacking R.T. He's kind, amazing, gentle, and strong, u do not know him to say such things. He got into a bar fight while a college student, and has paid a huge price for it, many college guys get into fights that end up just as bad, even worse....and the only reason u focus on this one is because of his remarkable career, peace"

My fourth grade teacher would be pulling her hair out after reading that.

Now that you've also had an opportunity to enjoy bad grammar, try to determine how many of the different groups of bully enablers the writer belongs to. For purposes of convenience I'm going to assume that no male American football fan would describe a violent, 300 pound sociopath as "kind, amazing, gentle, and strong." That would just be too damned creepy. I'll be referring to the writer with the pronoun she.

She assumed correctly that I was bullied when I was young. It wasn't overly traumatic, but what I learned from the experience had nothing to do with bullies. I learned that most people, adults included shamelessly display their depraved indifference as if it were something to be proud of. More important, the writer clearly blames bullying on the victim by implying that my lack of "self confidence" justified the behavior of the bullies. That places her clearly in in Group 3: Cowards.

The writer refers to Tucker as "kind, amazing, gentle, and strong." One could hardly assemble a more toadying combination of compliments for a violent criminal. This places her in Group 1: Toadying Sycophants and possibly the 3rd category of Group 2: Female Airheads.

She finishes her literary masterpiece by stating that Tucker "got into a bar fight while a college student, and has paid a huge price for it, many college guys get into fights that end up just as bad, even worse....and the only reason u focus on this one is because of his remarkable career, peace" Again she plays the Toadying Sycophant by reminding me of his majesty's "remarkable career." There's nothing remarkable about Tucker's career. He lives inside a huge body and received millions of dollars for knocking other men to the ground in front of thousands of screaming idiots. She clearly implies that beating smaller, weaker victims is perfectly normal behavior for "college guys." She clearly has no empathy for the men who end up being victimized by all those wholesome and manly college guys. This places her firmly in Group 4: Callouses.

America produces a huge number of men who intensely hate women: batterers, serial killers, rapists. The person who left that comment appears to be oblivious to the hatred she and others like her generate. Consider the case of George Sodini. Many people believe that George Sodini behaved as he did because women rejected him. That's not quite true. He hated women because a very noticeable but small percentage of women who could easily choose whomever they want during their youth inexplicably choose to lavish attention upon the most belligerent sociopaths on campus. Men who end up being abused by those sociopaths tend to notice and George Sodini was obviously one of them. This doesn't seem to occur to the sort of Airhead who left the post in question.

As always...

Why do so many Americans make it so easy for terrorists to hate them? If you have an answer, I'd like to know what it is.

Chicken Soup with Columbine's Lords of Denial...

The 13th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre is fast approaching and in all that time not a single adult in Littleton, Colorado has publicly admitted to any significant degree of complicity. Children and teenagers do not establish and maintain the culture of a community.

Adults do that.

When victims of bullying and their parents complain to school administrators (adults), it isn't the student body that attempts to wait them out in the hope that they'll just give up.

Adults do that.

And not just random adults. Adults in authority choose to ignore the criminal behavior of their star athletes. Instead of placing a high priority on the safety of other people's children, they chose to concentrate on stroking the athlete's bloated ego. There's an awful lot of blame to spread around. There are the adults who want their children to be feared by other people's children. Google "another Jew in the oven" for a small sample. There are the adults who have the power to punish specific bullies or discourage bullying in general by openly and loudly condemning it. There are the adults who wouldn't miss a football game for anything, even when they know a boycott would send a clear message. Adults cause and/or perpetuate the vast majority of our society's problems, but they'll never admit it. Adults always have a scapegoat handy to deflect blame. Like psychopaths on the witness stand in a criminal trial, the adults of Littleton, Colorado truly believe that they did nothing wrong.

If you've read a few of the posts here you should have figured out that this weblog is not about bullies, terrorists, or other similar criminals. It's about enablers. When you're finished reading about enablers consider the following analogy to high schools like Columbine:

A thousand people get drunk, climb into their cars, and go somewhere. One of them crashes into another vehicle, killing and maiming several victims. The other 999 drunk drivers get where they're going without crashing into anything. Some of them come very close, but they just laugh it off as normal behavior. A few cause other drivers to swerve out of their way, resulting in traffic collisions that didn't directly involve the drunk driver who caused the problem. They laugh it off too. Think of all of the vandals, serial arsonists, bombers, and killers who can trace their anger to the community sanctioned cruelty they were subjected to as adolescents. Like drunk drivers who cause collisions without being harmed by them, these are the schools who cause tragedies without suffering from their effects. Perhaps you attended one of these gems of western civilization yourself.

The drunk driver who is unlucky enough to actually crash into something makes a few headlines, but all of the others remain anonymous. In their minds they did nothing wrong. Like the drunk who crashed, the Columbine massacre made a lot of headlines, but little effort was expended to thoroughly investigate the athletes first culture that precipitated it. Given the behavior of many athletes since Columbine, little effort has been expended to address the problem. American adults are very good at the art of denial.

There are a thousand Columbine's in America; high schools and colleges where cocky, violent sociopaths are placed on a pedestal simply because they play football. Only one of those Columbines became known as the Columbine. It's unfortunate that no one in the media spent much time investigating the adults who placed violent bullies on a pedestal and ignored the complaints of their victims. But that's part of American culture. Ignore problems that harm unimportant people and they'll conveniently go away.

I love that picture of Mr. Denial. It has that ...Who? Me?!!... look.

The reason no one is putting a spotlight on the adults most responsible for inspiring the level of hatred needed to stage the Columbine massacre is both simple and obvious. The victims of bullying were others people's kids, and in America the safety of other people's kids shrinks to insignificance when compared to the ego of a football player.

Go Rebels!!

Chicken Soup with George Huguely's defense team...

The world's terrorists must feel overwhelmed by the wealth of material they can reference when training their field agents.

George Huguely's defense team requested the medical records of his former (She's dead Jim!) girlfriend, Yeardley Love. By itself this wouldn't mean much except for the fact that the police found her "lying face down on her bed with her right eye blackened and swollen shut." Huguely's attorneys are claiming that she "died from an irregular heartbeat caused partially from taking prescription Adderall and drinking alcohol."

The American Judicial System is an Alice in Wonderland drug trip where nothing makes any sense to most intelligent people. In such an environment, blaiming death from a savage beating on the weakness of the victim might actually work. In the real world, it only assists criminals, including terrorists to rationalize the moral neutrality of what they do.

If anyone can explain why intelligent, well educated Americans knowingly behave this way I'd like to hear your opinion. Terrorists are learning from our behavior. Are you?

I left an excessively generic comment on someone's blog a day or two ago that evidently caused some confusion about my overall objectives. Here's the problem as I see it:

There's an old story in Plato's Republic that involves a magic ring which allows its wearer to become invisible. Sound familiar? You can get the details by googling "Ring of Gyges" but the story has been used over and over in contemporary fiction. Plato argued that men who behave in a moral fashion do so not out of a deep seated sense of obligation to civilization but simply because they lack the power to behave immorally and escape punishment. The Ring of Gyges tells the story of a simple shepherd who acquires the power of invisibility and quickly uses it to improve his own quality of life at the expense of others.

Enough about Plato. He's still dead.

I wouldn't recommend holding your breath while waiting for magic rings and invisibility cloaks to be developed, but we are faced with a problem. Technology is creating a situation where a growing number of otherwise insignificant individuals are acquiring an increasing ability to cause harm to others with little chance of being punished. Today you worry about visiting the wrong websites because of computer viruses. A few decades from now your grandchildren will be worried about real viruses. Should they open that direct mail advertisement, or even touch it? Should they touch that doorknob or accept that offer of leftover cookies in the company breakroom? You get the idea.

The sort of people who create today's computer viruses are the product of the same social processes as those who will be creating tomorrow's real viruses. They are the product of a society that proudly displays a corrosive level of depraved indifference toward others. Read almost any post in this weblog for an example. Anyone with the technical ability to gain something, even if what they gain is as petty as a temporary thrill of empowerment by causing harm to others is much more likely to use that ability if their value system developed in a social environment like ours. In America, virtually every public school student learns that cruelty is rewarded and victims of cruelty are shamelessly blamed for what others do to them. In many schools, the adults in authority simply ignore complaints from victims of cruelty. The Columbine Massacre was not a mystery. It was an embarrassment. What a toilet.

I don't expect to change much of anything simply by writing a blog, but doing nothing would only make me feel as ugly and lacking in character as those who enable the criminals described in this weblog.

If this explanation is insufficient, leave a question and I'll attempt to provide a suitable answer.

Terrorists must love the American Family.

Remember George Huguely, the all American male who bravely defeated his girlfriend Yeardley Love in unarmed combat? His father, also rumored to be a really wonderful guy was recently arrested for drunk driving.

It's never been a secret that bigots, bullies, and batterers are like human feces. They emerge from the orifice of family character and they're welcomed with open arms by their moral peers in the cesspool of community character.

Our civilization would be much better off if sociopaths avoided reproducing, but don't hold your breath waiting for anyone in America to admit it. That's a taboo subject and it's considered a third rail in American politics. As a result of everyone's refusal to admit the ugly truth, the world's terrorists will continue to have an unlimited supply of evil characters they can refer to when building up the necessary hatred to attack.

Sleep well everyone, and whatever you do, don't look in the mirror.

Chicken Soup with Mike McQueary, former Penn. State hero...

Terrorists are familiar with corruption and injustice. That's why they become terrorists. This story should sound very familiar to them.

In a follow up to the embarrassing revelations about the sort of characters who infest the institution of football, Mike McQueary took the stand Friday and testified about what he saw. You can read the article yourself but one point stands out for me.

Defense attorneys pointed out that McQueary didn't act like a man who saw a young boy being molested. In other words, McQueary didn't immediately rescue the victim or report the crime to the police. I suppose they'll try to use this as a defense, hoping that jurors will be fooled into believing that cowardice and depraved indifference is equivalent to innocence.

It isn't.

McQueary is a member of an institution (football) with a long history of covering up even the most heinous crimes of its participants. His first impulse upon seeing Sandusky plowing his manliness into a small boy may have been to intervene, but upon realizing that the offender was a high ranking member of the institution he served (football), he became immediately intimidated. He was so intimidated he called his father for advice. His father was also intimidated. He told his son to report what he saw to another, higher ranking member of the holy fraternity of football.

Keeping it in the family and all that.

From the viewpoint of terrorists and those considering entering the field, most of the people they'll be killing, injuring, or otherwise imposing harm upon are the sort of people who wouldn't dream of demonstrating a significant degree of civility by boycotting the institution (football) most responsible for enabling criminals (alleged) like Sandusky.

From the viewpoint of the average American, victims don't matter.

If anyone wants to explain why terrorists should value the lives of Americans, feel free. Try to pick a more imaginative name than "Anonymous."

Chicken Soup with the South Fulton Fire Department in Obion County, Tennessee...

The world's terrorists must be sleeping very soundly indeed; free from moral quandaries.

I thought that nothing could top the depraved indifference of America's health insurance system until I read this cheerful story about the behavior of the South Fulton Fire Department.

In a previous post I compared the barbaric behavior of America's health insurance system to the highly civilized behavior of the fire department. At the time I was unaware that any of our nation's fire departments would dream of standing by while someone's home burned down. Apparently I was wrong. Moral depravity knows no limit in America.

If I come across a word that accurately describes the depths of depravity demonstrated by the South Fulton Fire Department I'll let you know. Until then, readers should consider the fact that those who drive airplanes into buildings, mow down their classmates in a hail of bullets, or park truck bombs in front of federal buildings are being made to seem considerably less evil when compared to the routine behavior of ordinary Americans.

If there's an example of the American Character that terrorists can reference to avoid tossing and turning at night...this is surely it. Just when I thought that football players, coaches, and fans couldn't possibly stoop to a lower level of subhuman depravity, along comes Penn. State University.

PEDOPHILE SCHMEDOPHILE!

SEE YOU ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD!!

Let's start from the beginning.

At 9:30 in the evening on Friday, March 1, 2002 Penn. State graduate assistant Mike McQueary witnesses Assistant Coach Jerry Sandusky sodomizing a 10 year old boy in the shower.

Mike McQueary didn't call the police.

Instead, he called his father John McQueary who told him to call Head Coach Joe Paterno. He called the next day, then met Paterno at his home and reported what he'd seen.

Neither John McQueary nor Joe Paterno called the police.

Instead, Paterno hosted athletic director Tim Curley at his home and reported what McQueary had seen.

Tim Curley didn't call the police either.

Nobody called the police. It's possible that these guys really do love pedophiles. Or perhaps they just didn't care about the victim. After all...what's the safety of a ten year old sodomy victim compared to the public image of a living deity like Jerry Sandusky?

Nine and a half years after all of these guys should have been thrown in prison, the University belatedly got around to firing Joe Paterno and College President Graham Spanier. Instead of protesting the university's half hearted response to the crime, hundreds of Penn. State college students stage a riot in support of Joe Paterno. They knocked over a television van and chanted, "We want Joe!" in a very successful public reminder of why Columbine killers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold massacred members of their student body instead of targeting the jocks they claimed to hate.

The basic reason that no one notified the police is simple: The institution of football harbors, enriches, and deifies some of the sickest sociopaths that the American Family can produce. That includes a good percentage of the fan base.

If the 10 year old child of any of the college staff listed here or of any of those college students who rioted was being molested, they'd demand that the world come to a screeching halt and impose the harshest possible punishment upon the offender. But because the victim was someone else's child and the pedophile was a really, really important member of the gridiron elite, it was covered up like so many other embarrassing revelations about the true character of football enthusiasts.

Americans who really want to demonstrate their support for victims can skip the phony baloney candlelight vigils and blue shirt days. If you really want to send a message, simply take a year off. Don't show up for any of the big four sports: football, hockey, basketball, or baseball at any level, high school through the pros for one calendar year. If all those scumbags care about is money, then the only tactic they'll pay attention to is a public willing to shut off their cash flow. This won't happen of course. Americans don't care about victims, even the most innocent of victims and the world's terrorists know it.

And that's all that the world's terrorists need to know about Americans in order to sleep at night.

Every terrorist wannabe and every criminal in America can thank Ron Paul, M.D. who took a Hippocratic Oath...OB/GYN Ron Paul who cares for women and infants...Presidential Candidate for the Republican Party Ron Paul for leaving no doubt that human life has no value and human suffering is a non-issue.

How does Ron Paul feel about all of our nation's evil, socialist, taxpayer funded fire departments? They don't ask emergency callers if they have insurance. They don't send fire victims a bill. And even Ann Coulter hasn't stooped low enough to suggest that people shop around for the lowest price fire department while their home burns to the ground.

The world's terrorists can thank Ron Paul for removing any moral impediments to sacrificing human life and imposing human suffering in the pursuit of their goals. After all, who are terrorists to argue with the tenet that health insurance industry profits and bloated executive bonuses are more important than human life.

Five years after blithely attempting to injure another player three times during a single game back in 2006, Brian Wood is still allowed to play football.

Chicken Soup fans will remember that he became the subject of national news stories when Riveroak Redskins Assistant Coach Cory Petero attempted to knock some sense into him during a game on September 2, 2006. The story is a simple and familiar one:

Brian Wood, like all bullies was perfectly content dishing it out to victims who are smaller and weaker than he is. When a larger Cory Petero put him on the receiving end of his own behavior Brian Wood (the bully), the parents who taught him how to treat smaller, weaker people, and all of the world's usual sociopath enablers expressed outrage and feigned bewilderment because there was one adult present who dared to put the safety of the victim ahead of the ego of a stereotypical Columbine Jock. A follow up story reported that Cory Petero was sentenced to pick up trash on the highway for a few weekends, serve four years on probation, complete a 16 week anger management program, and pay Brian Wood (the bully) $100. Brian Wood's mother, Denise Champion expressed outrage and disappointment with what she described as a light sentence.

I'd give the guy a medal.

Once again, terrorists have yet another example to study. American parents raise their children to intentionally harm smaller, weaker children and public outrage is entirely directed at the only adult on the field willing to punish the offender.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the event known almost universally as "9/11" and there are numerous dedications and memorial services going on as I write. In fact, I've seen more documentaries about 9/11 over the last two weeks than I can remember. I joked to one of my coworkers the other day that I was half expecting to hear a report about the effect of 9/11 on the hairdressing industry.

And now for those "embarrassing statistics."

In the decade since 9/11, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, Americans have committed the following crimes against other Americans:

Homicide: 163,705
Forcible Rape: 927,387
Aggravated Assault: 8,619,877

The American Family just keeps churning them out.

Al Quaeda would have to stage more than five 9/11 attacks every year in order to come close to the rate at which Americans murder other Americans. The United States is not a nation of angels. It's not even close. If you want to make this country a better place to live, take a good look in the mirror and ask what you've done to avoid rewarding or otherwise enabling American criminals. And if you're not even willing to make that small effort toward your own country's future, stop complaining about terrorism, because you aren't really all that concerned about victims.

One of the objectives of Basic Military Training is to dehumanize the enemy in an effort to make it easier for inexperienced, young soldiers to kill them without hesitation or regret.

Domestic terrorists like Timothy McVeigh and the Columbine killers have an advantage over military recruits in that their target, the American public dehumanizes itself by routinely supporting criminals and punishing victims.

Once again we have a case that involves a football player in Texas. The basic story is simple and familiar:

A high school football and basketball player rapes a cheerleader at a party and is arrested the next day. He is set free almost immediately and is allowed to return to school and to play sports. The cheerleader he raped refused to cheer for him and is punished by school administrators by being removed from the cheerleading squad. The victim's parents sue the school, lose, and are also punished by being required to pay $45,000 to reimburse the school district for legal costs.

Admittedly, the lawsuit was a dumb idea. I don't believe it was frivolous, just dumb. The courts are clogged, inefficient, and ineffective. The fact that the rapist did not go to prison is evidence enough of that.

Terrorists can judge whether their targets are civilized people or just another bunch of mean, stupid, and callous human animals by paying close attention to two simple facts:

1) School administrators could easily have displayed an iota of class by ignoring the rape victim's harmless act of defiance.

2) The audience, which is under no legal or moral obligation to support the accused rapist's right to attend school and play sports could have demonstrated their concern for crime victims by staying home when Mister Penis was scheduled to play. They didn't do that because American sports fans are just fine with violent criminal athletes as long as someone else's son or daughter is being brutalized.

Terrorists can take comfort from the fact that the average American is even more callous than the average terrorist.

Terrorists need not lose sleep over the possibility of harming children. American parents certainly don't.

Kelly White is the mother of a boy who was being bullied. You can read about and watch a highly stimulating MMA video here and be sure to check out the comments left by both sides of the controversy, some of which I quoted below. You can also google "Kelly White" and "bully" for a long list of similar articles.

You can learn about Ms. White's character by reading the May 4, 2011, 12:40 PM comment left by one of her alleged neighbors using the screen name "Neighbor of Kelly." Here's the text of the comment in the event that it mysteriously disappears:

"ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT THERE IS MORE TO MS. WHITE THEN MEETS THE EYE…….LOOK AT HER CRIMINAL RECORD AND HOW MANY TIMES CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES HAVE BEEN TO HER HOUSE *MULITPLE TIMES* ALSO WHEN SHE LIVED DOWN THE STREET FROM US THE COPS WOULD BE THERE ALMOST EVERY NIGHT FOR ABUSE! CRAZY HOW PEOPLE ARE SO QUICK TO DEFEND THIS WOMAN WHEN THEY HAVE NEVER MET HER…SHE IS A FANTASTIC LIAR HAS BEEN HER WHOLE LIFE!"

Another comment about Ms. Kelly's character was left by someone named "ex neighbor":

"this woman has 6 kids… i have witnesed this family before… CRAZY… people…. comdoms do work and they need to invest heavely…. she through her kid into a dog fight… and i bet she is so proud that he lost…. what was she thinking…. they know the police… or should i say the police know them well… and do there jobs… she crossed a fine line and i hope finally she does jail time.."

And yet another personal acquaintance named "dont believe the hype" leaves their opinion:

"this woman is crazy dealt with her in my neighborhood last year same type of situation the only victims are her neighbors. hope they press charges on the crazy lady"

Ms. White also has many defenders who insist that the only way to stop bullying is for the victim to beat the bully in a fight. Their shameless hatred of America's least violent children should help assuage any guilt the world's terrorists may be having:

"She is right I agree with her 100% no fighting does not solve everything in this case the mom was right!!!!!!!!!!"

Rachel says,

"Yes I agree. She is a mother defending her helpless child. She had enough and most of the time it takes this to end the bullying unfortunately but kids can be cruel. You could tell how upset and anxious she was about the situation, anyone can see that. She is a parent protecting her child……………."

Actually Rachel, Kelly White not only avoided "protecting her child" she aggressively put him in more danger. You're an idiot.

And Johnny I.O.U says,

"I am 100% in agreement with this Mom. The child would be scared to stand up for himself away from some adult insuring that any altercation would be a one on one incident. I had this same thing happen to my son when he was in Chesapeake middle school when a bunch of boys and girls came after my son right up to our property. I tried to find out what the deal was and just as these kids done,they also ran and sped away in their vehicles. I jumped in my own vehicle and went to the school and guess what ? They were there laughing and bragging and I approcahed and asked them if the one person who had a beef with my son wanted to fight then come on back to the house and I would insure that it remained 1 on 1. They fought ( I made sure there were no weapons involved ) and after it was done without any major injuries the gang bunch went on their way and my son had no more problem out of them. He later told me that he couldn’t believe that I went to the school and brought them back.But it was settled that day without any serious injury and surely no charges being brought.It does no good to talk to the parents of the offenders. I have tried that also and like some-one mentioned.Then the parents want to fight you."

Johnny I.O.U is either a psychopath or someone who feels the need to make up a story to dull the pain of his own childhood experiences.

There are many other comments left by parents who shamelessly express a morbid fear that their children won't be feared by other people's children. The problem with this sort of parenting is simple and obvious. Someone's child will be the least violent individual in the neighborhood. Obviously, that child's safety means nothing to psycho mom's defenders. And then there's the obvious hypocrisy and personal cowardice of America's current crop of "stand up for yourself" parents. I'm willing to bet that most if not all of psycho mom's defenders wouldn't hesitate to file criminal charges and probably sue for damages as well if they were being bullied by one or more of their co-workers. Here's a character that terrorists can study when they need to discount the lives and safety of children. When millions of adults demonstrate their lack of concern for the safety of America's least violent children by listening to this idiot, why should terrorists care about anything?

Izzy Kalman is a "school psychologist with 33 years of experience in the New York schools" and the creator of Bullies to Buddies.

Kalman is promoting the idea that the current effort to treat bullying as a crime is a witchhunt and that bullies can somehow be turned into friends. That's not how it works Izzy. Bullies want to be feared and obeyed by as many people as possible. They need someone to dominate and humiliate in order to fulfill their family's sense of pride and they accomplish this by the time tested methods described here. In the same article as the "witchhunt" comment, Kalman even shamelessly places the burden of guilt on the victim of bullying.

"What I am interested in is victims and victim behavior. When I teach you how not to be a victim, no one can bully you. You don't have to wait for society to get rid of bullies for you to become happy."

Perhaps Kalman's techniques could be employed to protect women from being dominated by rapists or batterers. Hey ladies...once Izzy teaches you how not to be a victim...say...by blindly obeying the violent, abusive man in your life and by avoiding any sort of provocative clothing so that red-blooded American males won't be tempted...

You get the idea.

Only the lowest form of subhuman coward blames violence on the victim. And Kalman does this shamelessly. Izzy Kalman is dangerous to your children. Bullies and the criminally incompetent parents who raise them are not only laughing at him, they're thanking him for making it easier to brutalize and terrorize other people's children.

Why should terrorists feel guilty about harming people in a society that provides an ounce of credibility to a trained professional who knowingly puts your children at risk.

Terrorists can learn a lot about people by watching how the bulk of a community's population enables a relatively small proportion of bullies.

Artificial social structures like corporations and military units are shaped like pyramids. These structures are tools, created by people to fulfill a purpose and dissolved when they are no longer needed. Natural social structures are shaped like a diamond, a pyramid on top of an inverted pyramid. These structures are the products of nature, and like forgotten minefields they tend to endure long after their original purpose ceases to exist. Columbine High School proudly displayed just such a structure.

Here's how it works:

Draw a large, four-pointed (playing card style) diamond on a piece of paper. Draw two straight lines across the top and bottom 1/10th of the diamond to form two small triangles. The Pack Alphas occupy the top triangle and the Scapegoats occupy the bottom triangle. Scapegoats provide a convenient outlet for the routine and arbitrary cruelty of any Pack Alpha who feels the need to reinforce its authority and social status. An Alpha without a Scapegoat is like a Nazi without a Jew. There's no one to feel superior to and no one to use as an example for others to fear. The rest of the student body is scattered throughout the rest of the diamond with the bulk of the population tending to occupy the middle levels of status.

Other than the Alphas and Scapegoats, the other 80% of the student body fits very neatly into one or more of the following four groups of Enablers:

Group One - Toadying Sycophants: These individuals genuinely envy and admire the Pack Alphas and regularly complement and fawn over them in the hope of currying favor. Many of these individuals are best described as alpha wannabes and prey upon Scapegoats as much as or more than the pack alphas. This group also includes adults who look upon association with or overt displays of support for the local sports teams as a means of increasing their own status within the community. It's not unusual for fathers to push their male children into violent, competitive sports and for mothers to literally pimp their daughters to the football team in the hope that they'll become more popular. Kip Kinkel's father did this. He and his wife are dead now.

Group Two - Enabling Females: Enabling females generally fall into one of three categories:

1) Female Sociopaths enjoy watching people being harmed and often flirt with men in order to give their pack alpha a flimsy excuse to attack. Female Sociopaths often display the behavior of Alpha Females. One need look no further than South Hadley High School for a good example of their character.

2) Social Climbers hope to trade the use of their bodies in exchange for elevated social status, inclusion in a high status group, and of course, money. Obviously, they're willing to risk serious injury and are stupid enough to ignore the lessons of O.J. Simpson. The next time you read about a violent psychopath like Ryan Tucker, ask yourself why any female would go near him if he could not offer high social status and money.

3) Airheads are attracted to pack alphas because they're ignorant and hopelessly idealistic morons. This group consists of females who believe they can help their alpha male turn his life around and become a better person. A woman once left a comment on one of my blogs describing Ryan Tucker as "kind, amazing, gentle, and strong." Yeah, right. My local newspaper printed a story a few years ago where the girlfriend of an extremely violent criminal defended his character by stating, "He's a really nice guy as long as you don't provoke him." It's good to have an airhead in your corner.

From the Pack Alphas' point of view, the primary duty of Enabling Females is to reinforce the illusion that the Pack Alphas are irresistible to females. This illusion is absolutely critical to an individual Pack Alpha's ability to maintain its social status and the respect of its peers and immediate subordinates. Attempting to break off a relationship with a Pack Alpha is usually hazardous to one's health as successfully doing so undermines the pack alpha's illusion of irresistibility. Once again...remember what happened to O.J. Simpson's wife for daring to break up with him.

The Enabling Female's secondary duty involves satisfying the Pack Alpha's basic sexual needs by playing the role of a Penis Garage. A Penis Garage provides a place for the Pack Alpha to park his Humvee at night. Not every Enabling Female is required or even allowed to fulfill this duty. Being chosen to fulfill one's duty as a Penis Garage is after all, an honor. Most Enabling Females must satisfy their petty fantasies by fawning over the Pack Alphas in the vain hope of becoming one of the chosen ones and by constantly reminding those lucky enough to be chosen as a nighttime parking spot how lucky they are. In some circumstances, a Penis Garage is routinely reminded of her good fortune by other Enabling Females regardless of how abusive, controlling, or violent her Pack Alpha becomes. In other circumstances, Penis garages are preyed upon by other females who want to take her place.

Group Three - Cowards: Members of this group are terrified to appear critical of the Pack Alpha's behavior. In order to avoid appearing critical, the worst of these scumbags will shamelessly blame the Pack Alpha's criminal behavior on the victim. This is quite common in cases involving a popular athlete committing date rape but is most often seen when low status males are assaulted by high status males. In this regard, Columbine High School was far from unique. Cowards, particularly adults in authority are as common as flies in an outhouse.

Group Four - Calluses: These individuals are either completely oblivious to what's going on around them, are powerless to affect the situation, are convinced of the myth that cruelty is some sort of character building exercise, or are simply indifferent to the suffering of anyone chosen to be a Scapegoat by the Pack Alphas. The worst of this group displays the behavior of the reformed alcoholic by reminding anyone who complains about bullying that being victimized made them tougher or better.

Scapegoats provide a convenient outlet for the routine and arbitrary cruelty of any Pack Alpha who feels the need to reinforce its authority and social status. Scapegoats also provide a visual example for the other four groups to fear. Toadying Sycophants, Enabling Females, Cowards, and Calluses all live in fear of being demoted to the role of Scapegoat. The arbitrary punishment meted out to Scapegoats reminds everyone to conform and to accept the Pack Alpha's authority without question.

At Columbine, most of the Pack Alphas appeared to be athletes. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were obviously Scapegoats. And the rest of the student body fulfilled their roles as Enablers by supporting whatever the Pack Alphas felt like doing to the Scapegoats. This created the illusion that the Columbine Killers targeted people indiscriminately. They did not. Given the absence of dead and wounded goths and other obvious oddballs, it seems reasonable to assume that Harris and Klebold intentionally avoided harming those whom they perceived as fellow Scapegoats.

Terrorists can learn almost nothing by studying what the killers did. They can learn much about the population they traditionally target by observing the behavior of bully enablers.

There's just no end to behavior that terrorists can reference in order to sleep at night.

On April 30, 2005 an as yet unidentified partygoer at an off campus house on Princeton Avenue, College Park, Maryland decided it would be a good idea to memorialize the 6th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre by bullying and humiliating 19 year old student Daniel Murray. For reasons of statistical probability, I'm going to assume the bully was an athlete. Murray (the victim) returned later that night and torched the place, leading to the death of student Michael Scrocca.

The case went unsolved for the better part of a year. The break came in the form of an anonymous tip. Why this person waited a year to contact the police has not been reported, but I can speculate:

I first learned of this case from an episode of Investigation Discovery titled "Where there's smoke." Investigators expressed surprise by the number of 18 and 19 year old partygoers, none of whom were suspects who wouldn't speak to them without an attorney present. Some might assume that this behavior was just a sign of the times. I have a different theory.

Amongst the partygoers was a notorious bully, possibly a dangerous sociopath like George Huguely. His bullying of Daniel Murray was either witnessed directly or known of by almost everyone there. Potential witnesses, particularly those who lawyered up were painfully aware of the danger involved in acting as a witness against the bully. If the bully was indeed a student athlete, the university would have moved mountains to protect him against the slanderous insinuations of those who witnessed his criminal behavior. Many of these witnesses knew or suspected that the fire was started by the bully's victim but also knew that identifying him would involve testifying to the behavior of the bully. That can be unhealthy. It took a full year for one of them to make an anonymous call to police.

The pattern is becoming painfully familiar:

A bully with a long history of cruelty and violence is shamelessly allowed to avoid punishment by a society that makes an awful lot of "we love our children" noise during campaign season.

One of the bully's victims has been the subject of so much community approved cruelty that he no longer values other people's lives.

When the victim is arrested for retaliating, everyone conveniently overlooks the chain of events leading up to his decision to retaliate. In fact, he wasn't retaliating at all. He's just a nut who dreamed it all up on his own. (The Columbine Effect) Then the victim of bullying is sentenced (Murray was sentenced to 37 1/2 years in prison.) and everyone washes their hands.

No effort is made to prevent another similar tragedy from occuring because the overwhelming weight of a bully loving culture ridicules anyone who attempts it.

One young man will spend the majority of his life in prison.
Another young man died in the fire.
A third young man was badly burned during his escape.
The bully gets away without enduring a hint of public criticism.
In the words of the South Hadley Bullies, "Mission Accomplished."

This is a common pattern that all terrorists, foreign or domestic can study in order to assuage any feelings of guilt they may otherwise be encumbered with.

Terrorists and soldiers share a common problem. It's a lot easier to do their job and sleep at night if they can learn to hate their targets. Not to worry. Americans seem almost obsessed with behaving in a manner that makes them easy to hate.

Think of your own daughter, niece, or sister as you take a good, long look at what the American Family has become infamous for producing.

This is George Huguely, the habitually violent, habitually drunken American Hero of the athletic field who killed his girlfriend Yeardley Love because she dared to believe she had the right to use forbidden words like no, stop, and goodbye.

Silly female. Didn't she know that women are the property of the most violent American males on campus?

"The two sides of the George Wesley Huguely who could stroll a manicured golf course in the afternoon and allegedly commit an unfathomable act of fury in the wee hours of the next morning were not unknown to his friends and teammates."

By using the term, "two sides of George Huguely" it sounds like they're preparing an evil twin defense. I like more honest terms: George Huguely is a violent sociopath, he was raised that way, and no one was brave enough to say so publicly before he chose to prove his manliness and exhibit the quality of his parents' child rearing efforts by slamming Yeardley Love's head against a wall...accidentally of course. George Huguely does not suffer for lack of defenders.

George Huguely is being defended by Attorneys Francis Lawrence and Rhonda Quagliani.

Attorney Lawrence can be found here attempting to convince us that a mysterious force yet to be adequately studied by physicists crushed Yeardley Love's head. Poor unfortunate Mr. Huguely was simply an observer.

Pay particular attention to the comments section where people are actually expressing support for a man who drugged and raped a woman because he successfully escaped punishment for many years. Why do so many Americans want to help terrorists sleep at night?

Lawyers can be forgiven (just barely) for defending society's effluent. After all, it's their chosen profession. What cannot be forgiven and what makes it easier for terrorists to do their job guilt free are all of the people who defend the George Huguely's of America with their silence while the victim is being terrorized, brutalized, and controlled in a... ahem, manly fashion and with their phony condolences and expressions of bewilderment only after the criminal has been safely locked up or killed. George Huguely's lacrosse teammates demonstrated this behavior masterfully by acting as pallbearers at Yeardley's funeral. They said and did nothing to protect the victim beforehand, but they were perfectly willing to posture before the cameras after the fact.

The average American is some combination of mean, stupid, and callous, and terrorists know it. Keep up the good work.

Any knucklehead can start a fire, set off a bomb, or fire wildly into a crowd of unsuspecting people. A knucklehead is not a terrorist; he's simply a knucklehead.

A competent terrorist has a clear, achievable objective in mind. When Cory Moore took a police captain and his secretary hostage in 1984, he demanded that "all white people leave the earth immediately." Cory Moore was an extraordinary knucklehead, not a terrorist. The guy who put explosives in his underwear was no ordinary knucklehead either; he's more of a superconducting, supercolliding knucklehead.

Competent terrorists follow a few other rules as well:

A competent terrorist avoids becoming a serious suspect. This one should be common sense, but just about all of them get a failing grade here. Once a terrorist becomes a suspect he loses the ability to commit another act of terrorism. A terrorist who cannot continue terrorizing is no longer a terrorist, he's just a criminal waiting to be killed or arrested. A terrorist who retains the ability to strike repeatedly leaves his target audience with two options: deal or live in fear.

A competent terrorist chooses a target audience that possesses the ability to comply with his demands. He also understands, step by step how that target audience would go about complying. Someone who bombs a daycare center because he's angry with the banking industry is a knucklehead.

A competent terrorist makes very certain that his target audience understands exactly what the problem is and how to address it. I don't have a damned clue what Jared Loughner meant when he claimed that the government was brainwashing us with grammar. Nor do I understand how shooting a very likeable congresswoman is supposed to motivate anyone to change anything. Loughner is even more of a knucklehead than the underwear bomber.

In the movie "On the Waterfront" Terry Malloy uttered the famous words, "I could'a been somebody." Most Americans have felt that way at some point in their lives, often for the same reason as Malloy. Those who stage media events probably feel as though others have damaged their lives and they want to get even. They should think more carefully about what they do. A competent terrorist thinks and acts on a rational plan. A knucklehead feels and acts on compulsion.

No one who feels wronged should be a knucklehead. they'll wind up dead or in prison. And after their behavior becomes yesterday's news, we'll only laugh at them.

This will help you acquire a more accurate opinion of the American public and why suicide bombers don't seem half as looney as they should. Cory Petero is not a terrorist, but his story helps explain why America is such a violent place.

For those of you who don't recognize the name, Cory Petero was the assistant football coach who tackled a 13 year old player named Brian Wood during a Pop Warner game in 2006. Here's a link to the story. You can see a video of Brian Wood trying to injure the coach's son after the end of play along with an interview by Ann Curry of the Today Show. At the time there was a considerable degree of outrage, but the criminal behavior of Brian Wood and Cory Petero's reaction to it at a Pop Warner football game at Stagg High School on Saturday, September 2, 2006 should have surprised no one. Six and a half years after Columbine, bad parents still didn't get it.

Football is not a game. It never was. Football is a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry that looks upon badly injured children as just so much collateral damage, just an unfortunate side effect of doing business. It prioritizes the physical safety of players, including children, only when the monetary cost of insurance and law suits imposes a unifying motive upon the entire industry. And only the most naive parents allow their children to participate based upon the empty rhetoric of sportsmanship, character-building, and personal development. Your child is little more than raw material.

When children are signed up for competitive athletics, they enter a machine that turns out a product of enormous economic value to its owners: professional entertainers. The operation of this machine resembles that of a mining operation where a colossal amount of material is blasted and dug out of the ground in order to produce a proportionately tiny amount of finished product. Both operations leave enormous piles of tailings in their wake and both have a long history of being messy, dangerous to participants, and corrupt.

In football the filtering and disposal of less promising candidates follows a time-tested and widely accepted routine. The first few seasons appear to be conducted as promised; athletics is treated as a game where ideals like fun, fairness, and sportsmanship are openly promoted. This helps to maintain a pleasant illusion for the benefit of recruiting new players. When the players reach the age of 12 or 13, not coincidentally when they’re just bumping into the front edge of puberty, the situation changes considerably. There is little emphasis on having fun and increasing pressure to win regardless of the consequences. Anyone who finds this situation uncomfortable or for any other reason simply falls out of favor is urged to find something else to do. If such an individual does not choose to leave on his own, various methods of encouragement are imposed upon him, one of the most physically dangerous of which was demonstrated by 13-year-old Brian Wood and recorded on videotape during the game in question.

When a play ends, each individual tends to relax and return to his side of the line. This is when a player is most vulnerable to physical injury and Brian Wood obviously new it. The “late hit” that was witnessed by what is certainly by now an audience of millions was an intentional act intended to cause a great deal of physical pain to the victim and to intimidate him.

Leave now or this will happen again, and again, and again.

The fact that the victim could have been badly injured, crippled, or killed obviously means nothing to Brian Wood, his adult role models, or to the entertainment industry as a whole. If his parents raised him to be a bully, he may have committed the act on his own accord just to acquire a sense of power, or he may have done it after learning that his victim had fallen out of favor with the coaches or the other players. Whatever the motive, it was not an accident. Brian Wood is a fairly typical sociopath of the gridiron and the American public loves him for it.

Terrorists can sleep soundly knowing that millions of Americans place more value on the outcome of a Pop Warner football game than they do on the lives and safety of their neighbor's children.

Terrorists need to be able to place a very low value on the lives of other people's children in order to accomplish their assigned tasks. Hollywood might have you believe that a potential terrorist needs to be subjected to some sort of extreme conditioning process in the tradition of The Manchurian Candidate. Nothing could be further from the truth. Simply spending one's formative years in a pleasant, child loving community like South Hadley, Massachusetts should provide all the conditioning one needs.

In truth, just reading about the behavior of some of its leading citizens should precipitate the necessary blood lust. Terrorists can find a wealth of material there that should lift any sense of guilt or remorse from their souls. I'm especially fond of the crocodile tears being shed by some of South Hadley's finest sociopaths.

The story is as simple as it is familiar. A pack of vicious bullies harrassed a victim until she hung herself in her bedroom closet. Then at least one of them wrote "mission accomplished" on her facebook page. The bullies are now being prosecuted, but there is no shortage of defenders who, even a decade after Columbine are still insisting that bullying is either harmless and normal, beneficial to the character development of the victim, or the result of the victim asking for it.

South Hadley, Massachusetts is one more human cesspool that terrorists can study in order to relieve themselves of any moral dilemmas they may be having.

On May 11, 1996 four football players, Ryan Tucker, J.P. McFarland, Jay Davern, and Billy Thompson beat TCU student Bryan Boyd so badly that he was read his last rites and the hospital asked his mother about donating his organs. He still suffers from paralysis, memory loss, and permanent brain damage.

As far as I can learn from the media Tucker served no prison time for his crime. When he was drafted into the Rams shortly thereafter, coach Dick Vermeil described Tucker's criminal behavior to a reporter with the comment, "He can finish a fight. That's a positive."

Tucker recently retired from the NFL stating that he had to concentrate on "being a daddy." I don't even want to think about how his kids are going to behave with him as a role model.

They get there as fast as they can, save as many lives as they can, and save your home if possible. And they don't add insult to injury by billing you after the fire is out. Saving your life and your home is considered a public service, paid for by taxes.

For reasons that baffle the civilized mind, our healthcare industry is still a for profit business that routinely condemns thousands of Americans to death or to an existence defined by horrible suffering simply because it isn't profitable to do otherwise. The value of any individual human life is valued according to the economic net worth of that individual.

Here's a story that should help terrorists avoid feeling guilty about killing Americans.

On the morning of March 14, 2008, while driving his Bentley with a blood alcohol level of .126 Cleveland Browns receiver Donte Stallworth struck and killed 59 year old pedestrian Mario Reyes, a construction crane operator who was just leaving work.

This tragedy could be perceived as just another genuine but preventable motor vehicle accident if it were not for one nagging and embarrassing detail:

Donte Stallworth Claims that he flashed his lights in order to warn the pedestrian. This one fact indicates that Stallworth had time to flash his lights. That also indicates that he had time to hit his breaks or swerve around someone he was about to kill with his vehicle. Instead of saving someone's life, Stallworth chose instead to "warn the pedestrian" that someone really, really important was approaching and he better jump out of that important person's chosen path.

Donte Stallworth places no value on human life and has no empathy for the man he chose to kill.

The learned and caring members of the judiciary who slapped Stallworth on the wrist and ignored his decision to "warn" the pedestrian instead of choosing to avoid killing him place no value on human life and have no empathy for the victim.

The men who reinstated Stallworth's multimillion dollar contract obviously have no empathy for the victim.

And most important of all from a terrorist's point of view...

Millions of American football fans who could easily display their opinion of Stallworth's behavior by staying home when he's on the field place no value on human life and have no empathy for the victim.

Terrorists can sleep soundly knowing that the vast majority of Americans place less value on human life and feel even less empathy for the suffering of victims than they do.
