Chicken Soup with Pope Damage Control...

I spent a futile 15 minutes trying to come up with an appropriate post, but I think the title says it all.

One wonders if Pope Damage Control will be brave enough to finally out all those pedophiles the Catholic Church protected all those decades. Or will he just call for the faithful, the gullible, and the callous to pray for the children without actually doing anything?

The victims are watching closely, and you just never know when one of them will follow the tradition of bullying victims by staging a media event.

  1. I think all organizations are like that. Just look at Chris Dorner's manifesto about corruption in the LAPD before he went on a serial killer rampage against his fellow officers.

All organizations serve to protect themselves first and foremost. Doesn't matter if it's the cops, a church or some big football team. Their identities are tied to the organization and they come to view "what is right" as "what is best" for the organization, and "what is wrong" as "what is against the organization.

The kind of man willing to clean up the Catholic Church is not somebody who would have been promoted much. But the kind of man willing to schmooze, charm, kiss all the right asses and say/do all the "right things" would be.

  2. All human interests are functions of self interest.
