Chicken Soup with East Middle School Assistant Principal Kim Lockwood...

Kim Lockwood has been voted: School Administrator Most Likely to Inspire a School Massacre by Chicken Soup, the Society for the Advancement of Chicken Soup, and the World Chicken Soup Council.

For those of you who haven't seen the documentary, "Bully" here's an example of Kim Lockwood's professional incompetence and all around failure as a human being:

"An early sequence shows Kim Lockwood’s attempts to settle one dispute between two students by forcing the two boys to shake hands. As I am a teacher who refuses to force children to apologize as I feel it is nothing more than a social “Get Out Of Jail Free Card,” this particular scene actually set my blood boiling. This is because we see Lockwood letting the bully off the hook because he simply offered a conciliatory, yet obviously dishonest handshake. This moment was followed by Lockwood beginning to accuse the victim for the bad behavior, even going so far as to suggest that his unwillingness and reluctance to accept the bully’s handshake made his behavior as negative as the bully’s persistent abuse, which has continued even after talks from teachers and the local authorities."

When a bully hold its "hand of friendship" out to its victim and pretends to apologize, it isn't a display of empathy, sympathy, or regret.   It's not an apology.  Are you paying attention Ms. Lockwood?

It's a test stupid.

The victim of bullying was being tested.   The adult in authority, Kim Lockwood was also being tested.   Has the victim learned to accept the fact that he is inferior to the bully?   Has he learned his place?   Does the adult in authority also accept the natural order of things, or will she need to be punished by the bully's belligerent, lawsuit happy parents?   As a trained and educated professional entrusted with the care and education of other people's children, Kim Lockwood certainly understands this process.

Here's your homework for today:

Find Kim Lockwood and explain how her behavior could be the catalyst for a future massacre.

  1. I haven't seen the movie Bully but, was it an actual documentary that was shot as opposed to a fictional film based on real-life events?

  2. It was a documentary, not a movie.

    1. Your comment made me laugh, only because I've just spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out if she was fired. Her competency was, unquestionably, zero. But it would make sense for her to be "promoted" out of any position where she's having to deal with discipline. That's usually the "vice-principal's" job, right?

    2. She was not fired, she is now the principle of one of the elementary schools in Sioux City

  5. Promoted?! This CAN'T be accurate.

  6. "GRAPHIC: Since "Bully" was filmed, Kim Lockwood has been promoted to principal of the elementary school in Alex's district. After repeated phone calls and e-mails from CNN, Kim Lockwood declined to be interviewed."

This quote is from the CNN transcript, about three quarters of the way down.

    What an indescribably vile woman.

  7. Someone left a comment claiming that Kim Lockwood was now the Principal of Nodland Elementary School in Sioux City, Iowa. I cannot confirm this from their online staff directory.

  8. Never mind...

She really was promoted after her stellar performance in "Bully."

  9. Just watched "Bully" for the 3rd time & my eyes welled up again. The lack of concern for Alex Libby by Kim Lockwood is tragic, not to mention the b.s. she feeds his parents. After the fallout from this movie, she gets "promoted" from Asst Principal of the middle school to Principal of Nodland Elementary(????). How frightening! She needs to GO AWAY! This woman herself, not JUST her behavior, is disgusting! What are they adding to the water out there in Iowa!? I'm thankful my own sons are grown, but now my fear shifts to my grandchildren... To know that there's such incompetence on the part of some educators in this Country is frightening!

    1. The fact that she got away with displaying depraved indifference in front of a video camera only helps the next school shooter to rationalize that what he's going to do is morally acceptable.

She's one sick bitch who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near adolescents.

  10. A great read to get a more complete picture of what happened with Ms. Lockwood. She didn't have to release the footage of herself. She knew it was bad, but did it so it could "help other educators".

    1. Read a lot. Stay out of trouble. And never forget that although children are not miniature adults, many adults are just mentally unbalanced children.

      Good luck in high school.

  12. I watched the documentary last night with my sister. I am STILL crying. This broke my heart. Alex is a real fighter, since birth always a trooper. I was disgusted at the way Kim and the other lady handled everything. There is a comment from a student who says Kim was demoted. Hope it's true. I, too, spent more than 20 mins trying to see whether this woman was fired. Man, if my daughter was in that situation I would have been WAY more aggressive about the situation instead of sitting my son and asking him if he likes to be bullied. I would have held my son. This was heart-breaking

  13. Kim Lockwood was promoted to Principal of a local elementary school.

This sort of situation persists because too many people forget that our species is predatory and violently hierarchical. Alex, being at or near the bottom of the social pecking order is thought of as a natural target for everyone else's abuse, hardly worth thinking about.

  14. Why the HELL hasn't that nitwit woman lost her job?!

She's clearly an incompetent! The only reason she apologized is because she got called out for her behavior. That doesn't whitewash all the long-term psychological damage that victims of her incompetency have to live with. If she was truly sorry she'd realize she's a freaking moron and quit her job and find something more suited to her skills like perhaps running a garbage dump.

    1. If you really feel that way, mail a few hard copies of this post to the school committee, the local media, etc.

  15. I watched a film a few months ago called ' COMPLIANCE ' , with Ann Dowd . -- Her character was just like Kim Lockwood . I didn't think that 'people' like this actually existed . I wanted to go thru the television and strangle this fat cow !! ( Yeah -- You Lockwood ) !! I can't believe that this woman still has a school position -- let alone any kind of job for that matter . -- She makes me sick to my stomach and if any of these students parents have any sense whatsoever -- You have got to make this bitches life completely miserable !! She belongs in prison !! And deserves only the greatest of hazings on a daily basis ! Damn I am pissed !!!

    1. Perhaps you could write to her, explain how you feel, and include a copy of this post. Perhaps a few dozen other faculty members would like to be copied on your e-mail as well. And don't forget to include a few media outlets.

Or you could do nothing at all.

And there are far worse people than Kim Lockwood working in the public school system. Why do you think we have events like Columbine?

  16. I actually grew up in Sioux City Iowa and attending East Middle School and East High School.

I reported a particular teacher who persistently bullied students to the Guidance Counselor a total of 3 times over a 3 year period. My comments were always rebuffed and I was made to feel as if my "Whistle Blowing" was akin to slander.
I actually witnessed this teacher shaking and strangling a student during the talent show rehearsals. It alarms me that the school continues to overlook blatant criminal behavior in both bullying students and bullying faculty. Kim Lockwood was promoted to principal at a local elementary school. What type of message does this send? It is like slapping bullying victims in the face all over again.

    1. Perhaps the student body should read more about Kim Lockwood.

  17. Kim Lockwood displays many behaviors of NPD, Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Her words, actions, and flippant dismissals were egregious and highlights how self absorbed she truly is.

Her blatant disregard for safety endangers the children whom she should be protecting.

I truly believe her public "Apology" was insincere. She was in self-preservation mode to dodge the avalanche of criticism thrown her way and at the same time blamed the documentary maker for her public flogging. She took no responsibility for ENABLING THE BULLY CULTURE of her school.

She is currently being sued by a faculty member at Sunnyside Elementary school in Sioux City Iowa. She continues her bullying rampage.

    1. Of course her apology was insincere. She is the sort of adult who does everything she can to precipitate an act of terrorism while reserving the right to feign bewilderment and express outrage if she is successful.
